Kingston Data Traveler USB: Super Secure

Kingston USB Drive

You want your data locked down so snoops can’t get to it. You want it protected too against damage from being wet, like when your dog chews on it, or physical abuse like…well, when your dog chews on it.

Kingston thought of your dog when they designed their Data Traveler Secure USB flash drives. They made it in titanium-coated stainless steel case that makes the flash drive waterproof up to a depth of 4 ft. That’s the physical security part.

The data security part is about encryption, 256-bit AES hardware encryption so strong that even Mitnick will take a hard and long time (about 43 seconds) to hack.

The Kingston Data Traveler Secure is out there now for you to buy at $33 to $244, your choice of from 512MB to 4GB.

It has an even more secure brother, the Data Traveler Secure – Privacy Edition, meant for business customers and it comes with full drive AES encryption and a complex password protocol. It’s not out yet because Kingston still can’t decide how much to price the thinga-ma-jig.

Let’s see…a USB drive that is safe from snoops and Snoopy, how much should it be?
