Heard of the $1000 thumb drive? Kingston‘s new DataTraveler 300 USB Flash drive is available now in the UK and Europe for about £566 or $924 and it carries a massive 256GB of storage capacity.
The new USB drive reads up to 20MBps and writes up to 10MBps of data, and comes with support for Windows Vista’s ReadyBoost feature.
Kingston said up to 90% of the drive’s content can be password protected and accessed because of the included new Password Traveler software.
A USB Flash drive that costs more than your average laptop cannot be purchased off the shelf yet; it’s available only on order, and only in Europe as of now.
