The amiable Joe McNally has a review of the new Nikon flashgun, the SB-900, where he says, “Well, if the SB800 is a real nice Chevy, this baby’s a Cadillac.”

We’ll take his word for it, Joe’s a straight shooter. Joe’s all praises for the SB-900’s smooth light. The unit has three light distribution patterns, standard, center weighted and even.

He gushes, “…for the first time we can really address the quality of the light we are getting at the source, in addition to the zoom control.”

The master photographer put the new Nikon strobe through its paces and in his blog describes for us in detail his hands-on experience with the SB-900.

Above is a photo of his daughter, Claire, taken from about 40 feet away using the SB-900. Stunning. Need we say more?
