Hahnemuhle to Release Sugar Cane 300gsm Paper (Sweet!)

Hahnemuhle Green Rooster Environmental Initiative

Hahnemuhle FineArt is introducing a new inkjet paper made largely from sugar cane fibers. The company said the new paper, to come out in the Spring of 2009, combines Hahnemuhle’s premium quality inkjet coating technology, with a beautiful paper substrate created from an ecologically friendly resource.

Hahnemuhle Sugar Cane 300gsm is made from 75% sugar cane (bagasse) fiber, which is a by-product of sugar cane processing and 25% recycled cotton fibers. Bagasse fiber is an eco-friendly resource endorsed by many environmental organizations worldwide.

The sugar cane-based paper is part of the 425-year-old company’s Green Rooster environmental initiative. Hahnemuhle will donate a percentage of each Sugar Cane 300gsm paper sale toward worthy international environmental projects.
