Glacial Light Announces LED-BR40 Light Bulb

Glacial Light LED-BR40 Light Bulb

GlacialTech Inc. of Taiwan introduces its LED-BR40, a Light Emitting Diode bulb designed to replace equivalent 80W BR40 globes and lamps available in markets today. The LED-BR40 uses lower wattage compared with the original product (840Lux for the high brightness globe at a distance of 1m) with much less heat radiation than traditional light bulbs, according to the company.

The LED BR40 Globe can be used for general everyday use to light homes or illuminate photography studios. It has an input voltage of 110V (AC) and input current of 0.3A. The bulb assembly weighs about 300g.

GlacialTech says LED-BR40 bulbs use Super High-brightness LED emitters that consume just 18.6Watts in the high brightness bulb. As a result, the LED-BR40 LED light bulb is much cooler within a range of -20 to +50 °C with a 112% more advanced conversion of energy to light. It can last about 50,000 hours.

The LED BR-40 will be available mid-August in Taiwan at about US$60.
