Getty Images Now Accepting Entries for 2008 Grants

Getty Images is now accepting applications for next year’s Grants for Editorial Photography. Five grants will be awarded, $20,000 each for a total of $100,000. The grants also carries with it project execution support from the photo editors of Getty Images.

Grant recipients are given the opportunity to sign a one-year exclusive-rights deal with Getty Images whereby their work could be marketed and available for license to customers worldwide through gettyimages.com, while retaining copyright of their imagery.

Applicants must include a written proposal of 550 words or less explaining the scope, significance and journalistic merit of their chosen project, along with a supporting portfolio of between 30 and 60 images of their previous work.

Two grants will be announced in February 2008; applications for the two $20,000 grants must be postmarked by November 15, 2007.

Another 3 grants will be announced in September 2008; applications for these must be postmarked by May 15, 2008.
