Fujifilm Unveils 8MP FinePix Z100fd Slim Camera

Fujifilm 8MP FinePix Z100fd Digital Camera

Fujifilm has launched the FinePix Z100fd, the newest camera in what the company describes as its ultra-compact, trendsetting Z-series.

Fujifilm says the 8-megapixel FinePix Z100fd is only 19.8mm thick, but it packs a mid-range Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens, the equivalent of a 36mm-180mm camera, a high-resolution 2.7″, 230k pixel LCD with a reinforced glass coating and sensitivity settings of up to ISO 1600 to shoot evening images without the use of a flash.

The fd in Z100fd of course refers to Face Detection, a feature Fujifilm pioneered with the F31fd compact camera. It detects people’s faces in a scene and sets the correct focus for a chosen primary face and exposure for all detected faces automatically, regardless of where subjects are located within the frame.

The $250 Z100fd also offers other innovative features that include Blog Mode, Photo Folder Management, i-Flash, Dual Shot Mode, Special Scene Modes, Auction Mode and Movie Mode, among others.
