Fujifilm Offers Chemical-Free Onsite Photo Printers

Fujifilm ASK-2000 Printer

Fujifilm USA has announced two professional grade digital photo printers, the ASK-4000 and ASK-2000, which allows for quick onsite printing of photographs.

“Our new printers are the perfect solution for on-site event and wedding photography,” said James Riekert, Director of Marketing – Kiosks, Imaging Division, Fujifilm USA. The Fujifilm printers feature the company’s Image Intelligence technology which delivers excellent color correction and smoothing of skin tones.

The ASK-2000 and ASK-4000 use Fujifilm’s chemical-free dye-sublimation print technology, a method that involves an ink ribbon, heated by a thermal head and coated with dye, which transfers the dye onto special coated paper. The paper absorbs the dye to form visible images, and is then sealed by a protective UV overcoat layer to provide a water-resistant barrier, helping to ensure the preservation of images.

Beyond commercial event and wedding photography, these printers are also geared towards government and law enforcement organizations where quick high-quality prints are necessary for crime scene photos, mug shots, evidence photos and photo I.D. printing.
