Fujifilm’s New FinePix F70EXR Compact Touts 27-270mm Zoom

Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR Digital Camera

The new Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR compact digital camera boasts a new 10x optical zoom that extends its zoom range from a wide-angle 27mm to telephoto 270mm.

At the same time, Fujifilm strapped a half-inch Super CCD EXR image sensor, which, together with the 10x Fujinon zoom lens, promises crisp high resolution images.

Fujifilm said the EXR sensor was modeled after the human eye. In theory, this is how it works: when the light is strong and even, the camera can be switched to HR (High Resolution) mode to ensure every small detail is recorded. When light is strong but contrasty, the sensor can switch to DR (Wide Dynamic Range) mode to get the optimal balance between highlight and shadows. In low light the sensor will switch to SN (High Sensitivity and Low Noise) mode, to ensure clean noise-free pictures even in the darkest conditions.

The Fujifilm FinePix F70EXR will hit store shelves next month with pricing to be also known at that time.
