First GE Cameras Debut at PMA 2007

General Imaging GE-X1 Digital Camera

General Imaging today launched the first digital cameras to carry the General Electric name, headlined by the prosumer 8-megapixel GE-X1, shown above.

Billed as a high-performance camera for the serious photographer, the X1 touts a 12x optical zoom and a 2.5” LCD screen. It is powered by four AA batteries.

The first batch of GE cameras also include two from its A-series of entry-level models, the 7MP A730 and the 8MP A830, both marketed as affordable cameras for the first time buyer.

Also debuting are four models in GE’s E-series intermediate line, the E850 which includes a 28mm wide-angle lens, 5x zoom and 8 megapixels, the 10MP E1030 with 3x zoom, the 10MP E1040 with 4x zoom and the 12-megapixel E1240 with 4x zoom.

Lastly, the 7MP G1 is GE’s signature camera with its sleek and stylish form, geared for soccer moms who want style and performance in a point-and-shoot camera.

General Imaging also launched today its P1 photo printer featuring ‘ultra-contemporary’ design, 4800 x 1200 dpi resolution, advanced three-color ink, 75-second print time (normal mode) or 105-second print time (photo mode), USB 2.0 and PictBridge ports, a 2.5-inch LCD monitor, and a 25-sheet loading tray. It prints 4 x 6” pictures.
