Firmware 1.1 Available for Still-To-Be-Released Lumix DMC-LS85 Compact Camera

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS85 Digital Camera

Even before it hits store shelves next month, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS85 is getting an updated firmware. Firmware Version 1.1 is also applicable for the Lumix DMC-LS86 model.

The new firmware improves the stability of playing back videos and images when the AV cable is connected. It also adds a feature to change the volume of the shutter sound, and the volume is controlled by adjusting the sound volume of menu operations.

The $120 LS-85, an 8.1-megapixel shooter, is powered by 2 AA batteries. Aside from its low price, its f2.8 Lumix lens should make it an attractive offer. This camera is scheduled for official release by April 2009 but it could be trickling in by now from various sources.
