In New York, a hundred photography students have been interacting with top photojournalists since Friday, October 6, in an exclusive workshop that provides them with the opportunity to trade tips, techniques and ideas with seasoned photography professionals. Barnstorm: The Eddie Adams Workshop ends today, October 9.

This is the 19th year of the 4-day photography workshop to commemorate the life of Eddie Adams and the contributions that he made to the field of photojournalism. His famous photo, which won him a Pulitzer Prize, was that of a Vietnamese general executing a Viet Cong prisoner during the Vietnam War (1968).

In the workshop, the select group of students are mentored by expert photographers from organizations such as Time, National Geographic, Parade, The New York Times, People, Sports Illustrated, Reuters, Miami Herald, Houston Chronicle, The Washington Post and others. Over the four days, the students are exposed to many types of photography including photojournalism, fine art photography, studio portraiture, underwater work, long-term projects, and conflict photography.

Nikon is sponsoring the event by providing technical support and equipment and sending professionals to teach and lecture. Nikon is also awarding a $10,000 scholarship to the top student from the Barnstorm Workshop.
