Eco Media Player Brings Its Own Wind-up Power

Eco Media Player

Remember Trevor Baylis? He was the clever guy who invented the wind-up radio which produced its own power by cranking a handle.

Now Mr. Baylis has brought his expertise to the digital realm by making a portable media player with the same wind-up power. The Eco Media Player is a video player, photo viewer, FM radio, voice recorder, line input recorder, text reader and flashlight all rolled into one. Oh, and cell phone charger too.

Its 1.8-inch screen may be quite limited as video and photo viewer and it could be a bit bulky for little hands, but it’s perfect for the outdoor types, globe-trekkers and teenagers who often forget to charge their iPods but still want music on the go. The Eco Media Player was designed to be durable with its rubberized exterior, ideal for the rough-and-tumble as camping accessory.

The Eco Media Player costs about $350; it has been around for a while now.
