Durst to Roll Out Theta 76HS, Jota Album Printer at PMA ‘08

Durst Jota Album Printer

The Durst Theta 76HS high-speed “Large-Format Minilab” and the fully automated Durst Jota Album Printer will be exhibited at the Photo Marketing Association ’08 trade show, January 31 to February 2, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Both are being offered to photo labs and photo retailers.

The Durst Theta 76HS is only one of four models in the Theta 76 family that also includes the standard Theta 76 for a wide range of color-process output, the Theta 76BW for black & white images, and the Theta 76R roll printer. These products are designed to handle print sizes from 9 x 13cm (3.5 x 5 in.) all the way up to 76.2cm (30in. up to 4m/13 ft) for color and black & white.

The Jota Album Printer, for its part, offers easy operation, high efficiency and a small footprint, according to Durst. In an automated workflow, the Jota creates a stack of up to 15 two-sided picture pages that are clamped, cold-glued and mounted in a single-pass process. The system produces greeting cards, post cards, calendars, posters, leaflets, invitations, catalogs and standard prints, as well as a variety of picture albums and “memory book” keepsakes. Durst said the Jota system can produce eight 4×6-inch, two 8×12-inch or one 12×16-inch 30-page picture book in one hour.
