DPReview on Pentax K20D: Minor Flaws, But Highly Recommended

Pentax K20D DSLR

In their full review of the Pentax K20D digital SLR camera, the folks at DPReview.com heaped praises on the Pentax flagship for having successfully righted the minor flaws of its predecessor, the hugely popular K10D.

Reviewer Richard Butler writes, “the K20D is a great stab at making a photographers’ camera – a camera for people who love taking images, are happy to invest in lenses (perhaps the primes that can make the most of those 14.6 million pixels), but aren’t going to be recouping the cost of their equipment through regularly selling images. It offers a very pleasant, near pro-level, photographic experience at a reasonable cost and in a body that feels solid, well built and as if it was designed by someone who used one themselves.”

The minor quibbles this time around are in the live view mode and continuous shooting rate departments which are quite acceptable but not that great. There is also an issue with a few hot pixels that show up here and there, a minor flaw which is unnoticeable unless you really peep into each pixel.

The K20D is not a faultless camera, but it is still Highly Recommended by DPReview.
