Citizen Image Announces ciSyndicate Photo Selling Platform

Citizen Image Logo

Here’s how it works: if you happen to post a newsworthy picture or a really creative photo on your social network or photo-sharing website, Citizen Image can help sell it to news agencies or graphics services via its ciSyndicate platform. You get your money, and your photo-sharing website and Citizen Image get their fees too.

Does that make you a citizen journalist? I guess it does. You make money too. ciSyndicate is a new platform that enables Citizen Image to harvest user-generated content and stream it into their content syndication portal, transforming the millions of people who share pictures over social networks and photo sharing websites into an instant corps of citizen photojournalists.

New York Post, for example, recently used Citizen Image to obtain a funny shot of ‘Borat’ climbing out of the trunk of a New York City cab shot by a user of a photo-sharing site.

Don’t belong to any photo-sharing site or social network? You can also sign up with them directly; you take the pictures, they do the marketing. You shoot, they sell. You share 50-50.
