Charlottesville, VA Hosts Festival of the Photograph June7-9

Festival of the Photograph

The first Festival of the Photograph is scheduled for June 7-9, 2007 in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The 3-day event will feature photographic exhibitions, outdoor projections, master classes and interviews with world-famous photographers. It is a special event created by photographers for photographers.

Organizers describe it as “three days of peace, love and photography.” They said the festival will showcase the work of many of the world’s most celebrated photographers and exciting new artists, with images ranging from the fields of photojournalism to fine art.

For example, the works of legendary photographers Sally Mann, William Albert Allard, and Eugene Richards will be featured in the exhibitions.

Throughout the Festival, attendees with all levels of experience in photography are encouraged to participate by showing their own personal work at a special exhibit called “Yourspace.” They can also join by enrolling in master classes taught by David Alan Harvey, Maggie Steber, Alex Webb, and Rebecca Norris Webb.
