Casio Brings High-Speed Shooting to Its Compact Cameras

At about this time last year, Casio impressed us with its EX-F1 high-speed camera which shoots 1920×1080 full high-definition movies at 60fps. Dropping image size to 336×96 pixels, the Exilim Pro EX-F1 can shoot 1,200 frames per second.

Today, Casio impresses once again by bringing that high-speed shooting capability to its point-and-shoot cameras as the company introduces its EX-FC100 (shown above) and EX-FS10 compact cameras.

Both cameras can shoot at an amazing 30 frames per second of 6-megapixel images in High Speed Burst mode, allowing the capture of up to 30 images with a single press of the button. These new cameras can also shoot movies at up to 1,000fps.

Both the FC100 and FS10 are 9-megapixel shooters. The FC100, which will retail for $400, features a 5x optical zoom and a 2.7-inch display. The $350 FS10 has 3x zoom and 2.5-inch LCD. Both will be available in March 2009.
