Casio Announces 3 New Exilim Zoom Compacts

Casio EXILIM Zoom EX-Z300, EX-Z250 & EX-Z85

Casio today announced three new cameras – the EXILIM Zoom EX-Z300, EX-Z250 and EX-Z85 – boasting a new imaging engine and style.

Casio’s new EXILIM Engine 3.0 is featured on the 10.1-megapixel EX-Z300 and the 9.1-megapixel EX-Z250. The new imaging engine packages a new, dedicated high speed image processing CPU which Casio says enable the two cameras to produce beautiful image quality with low noise and moiré.

The company said that with the new Exilim Engine 3.0 the EX-Z300 and EX-Z250 can automatically detect and correct for difficult situations, such as night scene photography where camera shake could be a problem, or backlit subjects where faces often come out too dark.

The 9.1-megapixel EX-Z85, on the other hand, boasts a new sleek design in a compact body. It comes with a Face Recognition function that can detect up to 10 faces and then give priority to the faces for correct focus and exposure, and an Auto Shutter function, which automatically takes a photo the instant camera shake ceases, as well as a Movie button that lets users easily record widescreen movies.
