Canon USA to Raise Prices in May

Canon USA has informed its dealers of an imminent price increase starting May 1, 2008. Citing the rising cost of fuel and unfavorable exchange rates, Canon America is raising its prices by 3 to 5 percent.

The price increases applies to most Canon EF lenses and all Canon EOS and PowerShot accessories, as well as binoculars. However, the dealer net on Canon digital SLRs is unchanged.

Canon Canada is reportedly raising its prices too. Other regions may have different circumstances and the price upticks may or may not apply.
