Canon Updates Firmware for EOS-1D, EOS-1Ds Mark III DSLRs

Canon Logo

Canon has released new firmware for the EOS-1D Mark III (Version 1.2.3) and EOS-1Ds Mark III (Version 1.1.2) professional DSLR cameras. Both updated firmware offer a more functional controller and two new button customizations.

The multicontroller’s autofocus functionality used to be limited to toggling between two AF points; now it can be used to navigate around all the selectable autofocus points.

On the two new button functionalities, one enables the AF point selection and exposure compensation buttons to switch jobs, while the other enables the exposure compensation and ISO buttons to do the same.

Additionally, the firmware update adds wireless flash configuration and zoom setting options to the EOS-1D Mark III, a feature already present in the 1Ds version.
