Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III Firmware Update Version 1.0.6

Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III Pro DSLR

Canon USA has posted the latest firmware (v.1.0.6) for the EOS 1Ds Mark III professional DSLR camera.

The 10MB download, available from the Canon site, improves the reliability of communication with some CF cards and fixes a phenomenon involving color cast and vertical lines appearing in images.

The EOS 1Ds Mark III is the 21.1-megapixel flagship model of Canon touted to be the most advanced and powerful digital SLR in the world. It hit a snag with an autofocus problem which has since been solved with firmware and hardware fixes. Or so Canon believes.
