Call for Entries: The British Wildlife Photography Awards

The British Wildlife Photography Awards

Entries will be accepted beginning April 2, 2009 for the British Wildlife Photography Awards, open to photographers of all nationalities in the United Kingdom.

The stated mission of the BWPA is twofold: to celebrate and recognize the talents of photographers and to highlight the great wealth and diversity of the natural history of the British Isles.

The BWPA encourages “photographers, whether professional or enthusiast, to explore Britain’s natural and urban environments, and discover its bounty of wildlife species, from birds to mammals; insects to marine life.”

The British Wildlife Photography Awards has seven main categories and two special awards to encourage participation by young people, schools and youth community groups.

Cash awards include £5,000 for the Grand Prize, £500 for the Young Photographer Award (under 17) and £1,000 for School, Youth and Community Group Award.
