BenQ Joybook Q41 Features Auxiliary Display on the Outside

BenQ Joybook Q41 Notebook PC

BenQ today announced a new class of notebook PCs, the Joybook Q41, featuring an auxiliary 2.5-inch display on its front lid, so you can still play music, look at photos, play games or update some data even if your laptop is closed.

Is that any good? Well, yes, if you ask Bill Gates who has actually been pitching for the Windows SideShow functionality that’s built into Windows Vista.

The auxiliary display allows users to have immediate access to the Windows Media Player at the touch of a button, to the SlideShow Player to view all their photos, and to access fun games. Consumers can also stay updated by using the RSS Feed Viewer that automatically downloads breaking news or blog articles from favorite subscriptions.

For the busy business person, the Joybook Q41 allows convenient access to calendar appointments, latest emails, entire contact lists and even PowerPoint presentations all on the auxiliary display.

The BenQ Joybook Q41 is powered by an Intel Core2 Duo T7100 processor and Windows Vista. Its other screen is a 14.1-inch widescreen LCD with BenQ’s exclusive UltraVivid technology.
