BenQ Adds DC P860 with More Manual Controls

BenQ DC P860 Digital Camera

The BenQ DC P860 digital camera (8MP, 6x zoom) is for those who want a little more control of the picture-taking process but still want the ease of using point-and-shoots.

The P860 offers four shooting modes: Program, Aperture Priority (Av), Shutter Priority (Tv) and Manual. The Av and Tv modes allow the user to set either the aperture depth or shutter speed to suit his shooting requirement.

BenQ says the new camera integrates built-in technologies to minimize image blur, including Shake-Free optical image stabilization, which to us sounds more like mere ISO bumping than real sensor-shift IS.

The P860 claims high light sensitivity, up to ISO 1000, to facilitate shooting at higher shutter speeds, as well as low-light conditions but watch out for the image noise it entails.

The BenQ P860 will be available in Italy, Spain, Russian, and China at the end of March.
