BenekDesign Announces Fotomaps

Auckland-based BenekDesign has released its Fotomaps software, a map-based photo gallery where you can embed photos at the exact place they were taken.

“Navigating the map is as simple as clicking where you want to go. You can zoom in or out, drag the map to different regions, plus get a caption with the location, photographer and date of each photo,” according to a press release by BenekDesign.

Fotomaps is really a Flash- and XML-based photo gallery solution. But it’s easy to use and update even if you don’t know Flash or coding. You simply edit the XML file to add your photos and you can upload it to your website.

I tried it from here, and it could be fun to use, although a bit clunky for my taste. For more info, you may go to http://www.fotomaps.net/.
