Apple Speeds Up MacBooks with Santa Rosa Chips, X3100 Graphics

Without much fanfare, Apple today updated its MacBook line of notebook PCs, equipping them with the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, Santa Rosa flavor, with speeds of 2GHz and above.

The new MacBooks also get speed bumps in the graphics department, with the GMA X3100 integrated video replacing the old GMA 950.

The 13.3”-screened white MacBook is priced at $1,099 (2.0GHz/1GB RAM/80GB/Combo/GMA X3100), and $1,299 for the 2.2GHz/1GB RAM/120GB/SD-DL/GMA X3100 configuration.

The black MacBook is retailing for $1,499 with 2.2GHz/1GB RAM/160GB/SD-DL/GMA X3100 specs.
