Apple’s Steve Jobs did not disappoint in his keynote address today at the Macworld Conference & Expo. Unveiling the iPhone, among others, the crowd roared in thunderous applauses every time Jobs highlighted a feature of the sleek Apple device.
“An iPod, a phone, and Internet mobile communicator… these are NOT three separate devices!†Steve Jobs said. “And we are calling it the iPhone. Today Apple is going to reinvent the phone. And here it is.â€
The iPhone looked very slim and well streamlined, with a very large screen. Apple did away with the keyboard altogether and instead uses the fingers on what Jobs calls a new Multi-Touch technology, iPhone’s enhanced version of the touch-screen.
Steve wowed the crowd as he enumerated the iPhone’s many advanced features, demonstrating to the attendees the phone’s capabilities in playing music, displaying photos, surfing Web pages including Google Maps, and of course its phone features. It runs OS X.
The iPhone is priced at $500 for the 4GB model, and $600 for an 8GB version. June 2007 is the target date for shipping.
