Ansmann Energy GmbH has introduced its N-80 and N-40 battery grips for the Nikon D80, D40 and D40x DSLRs. The company says the N-80 battery grip, in particular, has enough juice for up to 5,000 shots with one charge on a 3600mAh battery.

Ansmann also says their battery grips improve the handling of the camera, especially for users with large hands. For portrait style photography, the handle is equipped with an additional shutter release, function wheels and memory key. The grips are also supplied with a car DC input plug to allow charging while on the go.

The N-80 and N-40 battery grips are available by the end of this month.
