Akvis Noise Buster 6: It’s New! Improved!

Akvis Noise Buster v6.0

Akvis has rolled out Version 6 of its Noise Buster for Windows and Macintosh with what the company claims as a new improved algorithm for noise suppression. (Reminds one of the “new improved Tide” detergent ad which the soap company has been repeating since the 1950s.)

But Akvis says this one’s for real: the parameters have been changed accordingly; a new microdetail parameter has been added, it reveals small detail without bringing back the suppressed noise. The new version also adds an Unsharp Mask Option, replacing the now retired Sharpen Edge parameter. The new Unsharp Mask option regulates the sharpness of the objects’ edges, according to Akvis.

The company adds that Akvis Noise Buster reduces both luminance and color noise on digital images without spoiling other aspects of the photo. A histogram displaying noise level and noise components (color and luminance noise) of the loaded image helps you to decide what parameters should be tuned.

Akvis Noise Buster 6.0 retails for $49 or €39.
