Adobe today released a beta version of its Photoshop CS3 image editing software. The beta version is widely available for download to enable Photoshop users to more easily transition to the latest hardware platforms, particularly Apple’s new Intel-based systems. Photoshop CS3 is expected to run a lot faster on the new Intel Macs than the previous CS2 version. The beta is available as a Universal Binary for the Macintosh platform, as well as for Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista computers.

Photoshop CS3 beta also includes a pre-release version of a major upgrade to Adobe Bridge, as well as a preview release of the all-new Adobe Device Central, a new tool to create content for mobile devices with smaller screens.

Meanwhile, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) also launched today its Adobe Photoshop CS3 beta preview learning center to guide users on the new features of CS3.

The final shipping release of Adobe Photoshop CS3 is planned for Spring 2007.
