2007 International CES Opens Today in Vegas

The 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show opens today in Las Vegas, Nevada with 2,700 vendors showing their latest and coolest gadgets to adoring fans.

Plasma TVs and LCD displays will be big items on the show, as well as the newest game consoles and portable entertainment devices. Digital cameras, video camcorders and smartphones will flood trade show floors with the newest models, and Wi-Fi will be everywhere.

LG Electronics will pimp its first-to-market hybrid HD-DVD/Blu-ray player and Samsung will tout plasma TVs able to stream video wirelessly from Wi-Fi devices and Westinghouse’s 56-inch, 2160p Quad HD panel set.

Even cars will make make a grand show at CES. Toyota will show off a self-parking Prius, while Mercedes-Benz rolls out its wireless USB-equipped R500, which plays media from portable players through a surround-sound music system and headrest monitors.

All these and more from the biggest electronics show on earth. Whatever your interests – audio, digital imaging, emerging technologies, gaming, home theater, networking, mobile electronics, wireless – the 2007 International CES has it.
