“The Sky is Falling! The Sky is Falling!”

Olympus E-330 DSLR Camera

No, it’s just the prices of DSLRs cameras that are falling. Just a few years ago, “affordable” meant about $2000; today, most major camera manufacturers offer digital SLRs at $500 or less.

Within the $800-$1000 range you can get very respectable cameras like the Pentax K10D, Nikon D80 and the newer Canon XSi and Sony Alpha A350, all complete with lenses.

1001NoisyCameras.com does a round up of camera models that have gone down in price recently and points us to where we can get them. For example, the Olympus E-330 which was the first DSLR to offer a Live View LCD, is being offered for $300, body only, at Cameta Cameras.
