XShot Competes with Quik Pod, Offers Longer Pole

blank space

XShot Extendable Mono Pod

Move over, Quik Pod, here comes a new competitor. The XShot offers a longer reach (37” or 94cm), is lightweight (3.9 oz) and is made of stainless steel.

Like the Quik Pod, the XShot extends to provide a length of pole on which to mount your point-and-shoot camera, enabling you to take a picture of yourself.

But is longer, better? The product pics show a little curve over the length of the extended pole, indicating that at that length the camera becomes too heavy and holding the pole with the camera on it may be a bit of a struggle, resulting in camera shake (thank goodness for IS).

Quik Pod or XShot? Take your pick. Me, I’ll have the well-thought out Quik Pod anytime.

  1. Michael Says:

    Hi Chris,

My name is Michael and I am the co-founder of XShot. After two years of very hard work, the XShot has made it to market and has received a tremendous response from consumers regarding its quality and design.

Although the posted picture can be misleading, I would like to note that since the XShot is made for digital compact cameras it is very easy to hold without shaking. You'll notice in our picture gallery at xshotpix.com that we have several women using the XShot. The resulting pictures displayed in the gallery are also actual pictures taken using the XShot.

If I can provide you with more information please let me know. Thank you for the write up!
