The World Press Photo Exhibition, which opens August 22nd in Scotland as part of the Festival of Politics, celebrates the best of journalistic photography.
“The awe-inspiring images of the World Press Photo exhibition are not always comfortable viewing,” admits Presiding Officer George Reid, “but each year these images make a lasting impression on audiences worldwide.”
Images in this year’s exhibit include a mother and child at an emergency feeding center in Niger and a polar bear feeding on a seal atop a blood-soaked ice floe. The free exhibition will run through September 7th at the Scottish Parliament.
