Crossing Waves by Tung Khanh Le, Viet Nam

The stunning pictures from the Nikon Photo Contest International 2006-2007 are now on display at the Nikon website and can be viewed here.

Nikon announced the winners last week, headlined by the Grand Prize winner from Vietnam, Mr. Tung Khanh Le, for his “Crossing Waves” entry depicting two fishermen struggling against the waves to escape from their capsized boat.

The Grand Prize is at the top of 52 other winners in various categories that emerged among 47,000 entries from 135 countries and regions.

This is the 31st staging of the photo contest which began in 1969. This year’s Nikon Photo Contest International ran with the theme “At the heart of the image,” which is also the brand statement of Nikon Imaging Company.
