Transcend T.photo 710 Digital Photo Frame

Flash memory maker Transcend is adding itself to a growing list of players in the ever-expanding digital photo frame market. Its maiden offering is the T.photo 710, a 7-inch item with a 480×234 resolution, quite modest in the face of 15-inchers from the other big players.

But the T.photo 710 is positioned in a sweet spot, within a price range and frame size most frequently bought by consumers.

With its feature set, the T.photo 710 may be able to compete well. It features a multi-card reader that instantly shows all pictures on SDHC/SD, MMC, MS, and CF cards as soon as you plug them in. Using a mobile phone? No problem. The T.photo reads those too, using an adapter. There’s also a USB host connector for those ubiquitous USB Flash drives.

Transcend says the T.photo 710 can showcase all of your favorite photos with background music and is highly configurable. Plus it has a rather generous 1GB of internal memory.

So, it looks good on paper. Now let’s see this baby hands on.
