TIPA Names Its Best Choices for 2007

The Technical Image Press Association, headquartered in Madrid, has named their choices for the TIPA European photo and imaging awards.

Headlining the winners are the Nikon D40x as the best entry-level DSLR, Pentax K10D as the best expert level DSLR and the Canon EOS-1D Mark III as the best professional level DSLR.

TIPA also named the Hasselblad H3D as the best medium format digital system and the Leica M8 as the best rangefinder digital camera.

In the compact category, the winners are Fujifilm FinePix Z5fd (Ultra Compact), Nikon Coolpix P5000 (Compact), Panasonic DMC-TZ3 (Superzoom) and Samsung i7 (Multimedia).

The best entry-level lens according to TIPA is the AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF ED, the best expert lens is the Sigma 70mm f/2.8 EX DC Macro and the best professional lens is the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM.
