The PicaJet Photo Organizer

Picajet Photo Organizer

PicaJet is a photo organizer that’s very good at what it does. It doesn’t pretend to be an all-in-one image editor but scores very high in photo organization.

Photographers with massive amounts of photos will appreciate its fast photo indexing and unlimited category-nesting levels.

Its digital photo management tool allows you to assign one picture to several categories simultaneously, unlike conventional folder structures where each picture file can only exist in one folder. And you can assign icons to these categories for easy identification.

PicaJet also supports several dynamic categories, which allow you to check the status of your entire photo collection, whether you want to see all albums or unassigned photos that still need to be categorized. It works with huge databases, so you can put in ten thousand or hundreds of thousands of shots per album.

Limited by your hard drive capacity? No problem. Transfer them to CDs and DVDs and PicaJet will remember which CD contains what pictures and retains a directory of those archived albums containing thumbnails of the photos. When you click on a thumbnail, PicaJet will prompt you to insert the particular CD. That kind of archiving also works for external hard drives.

The software sells for $50 at their website, and we are told by shareit.com that when you buy PicaJet you also get a free 12-month subscription to Shutterbug magazine upon checkout. This offer is valid for US customers until August 1, 2007 only.
