Tamron Photo Gallery Wants to Review Your Photos

After reading all those tips and how-to’s and experimenting with your new camera, you think you’re getting better at taking photographs, but are not really sure about it. So, you want others to look at your pictures and tell you what they think about it, some sort of a peer review, and maybe get some help from real pros too. That would be helpful, wouldn’t it?

Tamron’s Online Photo Gallery aims to offer that kind of environment to users of their Tamron lenses. “The new Photo Sharing area of our website allows users to get critical feedback on their images and provides a great place for users to find inspiration. Studying what your peers are doing with the very same equipment you own is an excellent way to push your creativity to new levels,” says Stacie Errera, Chief Marketing Officer of Tamron USA, Inc.

Fine idea, and the intention is great. But what is this 95K limit on images to be uploaded? Can you properly assess or appreciate a picture by looking at its thumbnail image? Try evaluating the photo above, one of those on display at Tamron’s photo sharing site (yeah, that small). Perhaps Tamron should reconsider this and allow maybe 640 x 480 pixels at least for viewing.
