Tamron 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD For Release Dec 20

The Tamron 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD (Model B008) DSLR long zoom lens for Canon and Nikon mounts will be available starting December 20, 2010. The release also marks Tamron’s 60th anniversary.

The all-in-one 18-270mm Di II VC PZD boasts a light and compact build, weighing only 15.9 oz and measuring 62mm in diameter. It claims to be the world’s highest zoom range at 15x magnification for a lens with its compact size and light weight, plus the added value of Tamron’s proprietary VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization.

While very long zoom lenses offer all-in-one convenience, allowing you to take photos from wide angle perspectives to long tele-zooms without changing lenses, some of these types could suffer from barrel distortion, chromatic aberration or some other limitation. The photographer is advised to actually check and test an expensive lens before buying one.
