Super Diamond Ixus Marks 10 Years of the Canon Ixus Line

Canon last night celebrated 10 years of the Ixus line by throwing a star-studded party-cum-fashion show and unveiling ten diamond encrusted Ixus cameras.

The ten diamond-encrusted IXUS cameras – one for each year – will be auctioned through eBay with all proceeds going to the Red Cross. One called the Super Diamond IXUS is worth €40,000 ($51,000) and encrusted with 380 diamonds. The other nine are His & Hers diamond Ixus cameras worth €3,500 ($4,500) each.

In the same party last night, Canon also reaffirmed its continued sponsorship of the London, Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks by launching “The Other Side of Fashion” – a collection of behind-the-scenes images taken by 100 style icons including Robert Cavalli, Donatella Versace and Christian Lacroix.

The fashion show also saw the launch of the three newest Ixus camera models: the titanium-bodied Digital IXUS 900 Ti with 10 megapixels, Digital IXUS 850 IS (7.1 megapixels), and the tiniest Digital IXUS i7 zoom.
