Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 processor, NVIDIA 512MB GeForce 9600M GT graphics card, 128GB Solid State Disk and a 500GB SATA drive. These are some of the goodies inside the new Sony Vaio AW-Series laptop designed for photographers.
This laptop is huge: 18.4-inch screen and a full-size keyboard that includes the number pad. Sony says serious photographers and owners of HD camcorders will instantly appreciate the absolute color fidelity on offer – full coverage of the Adobe RGB color space delivers the total accuracy essential to perfect editing.
This color fidelity is made possible with the use of what Sony calls 3LED backlighting – pure red, green and blue light emitted by LEDs generate a super-wide color gamut capable of correctly reproducing the full Adobe RGB color space.
The AW-Series comes with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom as well as Adobe Photoshop Elements bundled in, providing users with ready-to-use photo-editing software. Sony original software including Image Data Converter, Picture Motion Browser and a setting plug-in for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom further enhance the appeal to serious photographers.
The Sony Vaio AW notebook is expected to begin selling later this month, with standard models starting at $1600 and premium models at $2000 and up.
