Sony has introduced the Cyber-shot DSC-H3, a mid-sized digital camera meant as an entry-level model just a notch below their existing DSC-H7 and DSC-H9 models.
The H3, priced at $300 and available next month, is equipped with an 8-megapixel 1/25†CCD combined with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 10x optical zoom lens that goes from 38mm wide angle to 380mm telephoto.
The new Sony camera boasts optical image stabilization with its Super Steady Shot feature to counter camera shake. For low light shooting, the H3 resorts to digital image stabilization by increasing light sensitivity up to ISO 3200.
The H3 uses the same Bionz processor Sony uses in its Alpha line of digital SLRs and in the H9 and H7 compacts.
