From Australia, we get this review of the new Sony Alpha A350 digital SLR camera, which is yet to start shipping to retailers later this month.
Margaret Brown of PhotoReview.com.au writes, “Sony’s A350 DSLR has something to offer to both digicam upgraders who are looking to buy a more sophisticated camera and photo enthusiasts who want a high-resolution camera with all the latest shooting controls.â€
Her review camera came supplied with the new new Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* DT 16-80mm F3.5-4.5 ZA lens, which she said proved to be a much better performer than the kit lens.
Using the image quality evaluation software Imatest, Ms. Brown subjected the A350 through a series of tests and took sample images with the camera.
With its 14.2-megapixel CCD image sensor, variable-angle 2.7-inch LCD with Live View and SuperSteady Shot among other features, the A350 proved to be a very capable digital SLR. Just pair it with a more sophisticated lens, Brown says, to get the best out of this camera.
