Smick Introduces Lightbank 350 Flourescent Continuous Light Source

Lightbank 350 Flourescent Continuous Light Source

UK-based studio lighting equipment vendor Smick has introduced the Lightbank 350, a powerful mains operated continuous lighting kit with seven 50w compact fluorescent bulbs in each head.

There are three switches on the back of the unit that allow bulbs to be turned off. You can turn off one, two or four bulbs or any combination giving complete flexibility on the amount of light output. A barn door system is part of the unit that can be angled to direct light and a diffuser cover is also supplied with the kit, which allows the light to be softened even further.

The advantage of using cool lighting over redhead lighting is that the compact fluorescent bulbs give out a lot less heat, so will aid with more comfortable temperatures. Smick said the Lightbank 350 (£290 or $480) is ideally suited for all video work and for studio photography.
