Sigma DP2 Compact has a New Firmware

Sigma DP2 Digital Camera

Sigma DP2 owners may download a new firmware, Version 1.01, for their large-sensor compact digital camera.

The new firmware improves autofocus accuracy of the DP2 and reduces the intermittent freezing of the camera that can occur under certain conditions.

The Sigma DP2’s Foveon X3 image sensor measures 20.7mm x 13.8mm, 7x to 12x larger than the 1/1.8-inch to 1/2.5-inch image sensors used in ordinary compact digital cameras. The 14-megapixel sensor, in tandem with Sigma’s True II image processing engine and f/2.8 maximum aperture is said to deliver improved processing speed, operation and image quality.
