Sigma has unveiled its new DP2s compact digital camera, featuring a 14-megapixel Foveon X3 direct image sensor which has 3 layers of 2652×1768 pixel sensors. This large 3-layered sensor in a compact body is touted to deliver full-color capture of images.
It’s not much different from its predecessor, the DP2 – the specs are almost identical – but the new one offers a faster autofocus, a Power Save mode and a revised rear design with more visible labelling of the buttons.
Like the DP2 before it, the DP2s also shoots raw so it will ship with Sigma’s updated Photo Pro 4.0 raw converter.
