It’s Shutterfly’s birthday and they’re giving away 5 million prints for free until August 14.

In its 8 years of existence, the company says their customers have uploaded more than 1.5 billion photos and have ordered more than 500 million prints. So they’re giving away one percent of those prints now.

Since July 2, Shutterfly has been selecting 25 members daily to receive 1,000 free prints. Three grand prize winners will be awarded 10,000 prints each. The winners don’t have to keep all their winnings to themselves, after all how many of us have 10,000 photos to print? You can share it with your friends; it’s okay says Shutterfly.

The print giveaway is part of the company’s Summer Memories Campaign, which includes the launch of summermemories.com, where Shutterfly members can share their photo books with other users (meaning you can’t share it with Aunt Mei Lee because she’s not a Shutterfly user. And there’s the rub with photo-sharing sites).
