Seoul Semiconductor Introduces Bright New Flash LEDs for Small Cameras

ZLED FCW211Z Flash LED from Seoul Semiconductor

Your compact digital cameras and camera phones will soon be sporting a better and brighter flash, thanks to an innovation by the Seoul Semiconductor company.

Seoul Semicon describes their FCW211Z technology as a “super bright and ultra-mini flash LED” that will replace xenon lamps now being used as light source for digital cameras or 5 mega pixel camera phones.

The company says the FCW211Z can operate at high current of 2 Amp, and emit up to 100 candelas , more than twice the brightness of conventional LEDs for flash. The light energy of the product at 26.49 lux-secs is comparable to that of high capacity xenon lamp, and it is expected to exceed the level of xenon in the near future.

The new flash LED measures 3.5 x 3.0 x 0.75mm, ideal for small devices like mobile phones, digital cameras and video cameras.
